Being in-between jobs has its advantages, and for me, it has been the chance to sift through my vast collection of old photographs. It is remarkable how many pictures remain stored in my digital backups, each one a time capsule of cherished memories. However, I regret having an album of wedding photos that I was never paid for back in 2012, a folder I should delete to free up some space.
Starting anew with a job search is always challenging, but the past five years of hard work being wiped out by pandemic-induced lockdowns and border closures make it even harder. The dwindling bank balance doesn’t help either. Despite these hurdles, I remain optimistic and hold on to the hope that things will get better.
As I look through my old photos, I stumbled upon a snapshot taken at a music gig in Gauteng. Although I cannot recall the name of the singer, I still remember the good times we had. Here’s to those good times.
A song I heard on the radio this morning has uplifted my spirits, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the ladies behind “Cover Me in Sunshine.” Amidst the chaos of the world, their song has given me a moment of serenity and hope. https://music.apple.com/za/album/cover-me-in-sunshine/1566201612?i=1566202299
As I embark on a new journey in my professional life, I will treasure the little moments of joy and happiness that come my way. I will remain confident and optimistic about the future, despite the challenges ahead. It’s time to let go of the past and focus on the bright horizons.
